About Vincent

Throughout my career, I have taught children aged 4–11 in a range of school settings, including full-time class teaching roles and subject leadership positions. I have led English within a school, supported colleagues with curriculum development, and consistently maintained high expectations for behaviour, progress and academic standards.

My classroom experience means I understand:

Age-related expectations and progression

How to assess strengths and identify gaps

How to adapt teaching for different abilities

How to build both confidence and independence

Parents can be reassured that I bring the same professionalism, preparation and structure to my online tutoring as I do in the classroom. Lessons are carefully planned, purposeful and aligned with clear learning outcomes.

In addition to my teaching qualification, I hold a BA (Hons) degree and have a strong background in English, drama and communication.

This enables me to help pupils develop not only technical accuracy in grammar and writing, but also fluency, expression and confidence in speaking.

I am reliable, organised and committed to helping each child make measurable progress. Whether supporting UK curriculum learning or helping international students develop strong English foundations, I aim to provide high-quality, structured teaching that parents can trust.

About the lesson

About My Lessons

I am a British-qualified Primary School Teacher (PGCE with QTS) with over six years of classroom experience teaching EYFS through to Year 6. My lessons are structured, engaging, and tailored to each child’s individual needs, whether they are native English speakers or learning English as an additional language.

My Teaching Approach

My tutoring combines:

Clear learning objectives in every session

Structured skill progression (reading, writing, grammar, speaking, vocabulary)

Explicit modelling and guided practice

Retrieval practice and regular review

Encouraging independent thinking and confidence-building

I use proven classroom strategies such as:

Scaffolded instruction

Targeted questioning

Live feedback and verbal modelling

Short, focused tasks with clear success criteria

For younger learners, lessons include visual prompts, interactive activities, and age-appropriate challenges to maintain engagement. For older pupils, I focus on deeper comprehension, structured writing, exam preparation, and precision in grammar and vocabulary.

Lesson Structure

Most lessons are:

45 minutes (ideal for ages 4–7)

60 minutes (recommended for ages 7–11)

A typical lesson includes:

Quick review and warm-up

Direct teaching of a key skill

Guided practice

Independent task

Feedback and next steps

Parents receive clear updates on progress and suggested practice between lessons.

Who My Lessons Are For

I teach:

EYFS (ages 4–5) – Early reading, phonics, speaking confidence

KS1 (ages 5–7) – Reading fluency, spelling, sentence construction

KS2 (ages 7–11) – Grammar, comprehension, structured writing, exam preparation

International learners preparing for UK curriculum or Cambridge-style English

My experience across the full primary age range means I understand progression from early phonics through to advanced primary writing skills.

What Makes My Lessons Different

Unlike many online tutors, I am a fully trained classroom teacher. I understand:

Curriculum expectations

Age-related standards

Assessment and progress tracking

How to build long-term improvement, not just short-term fixes

My aim is not just to “practice English” but to develop confident, capable learners who make measurable progress.
