About Charles

Hi there,

Welcome to my page, my name is Charles, and I’ve been teaching (primarily) the saxophone for 9+ years! I’ve had a lot of experience with a wide variety of ages and skill levels, varying from young beginners learning at school to mature adults who want to pick up something new :)
I am thrilled about the opportunity to embark on a musical journey with you. I always try to tailor my lessons to each individual's pace, interests, and learning style whilst keeping it fun! With a flexible teaching style and scheduling approach, it’ll be easy to fit alongside your calendar. Together, we’ll cover technique, repertoire, tone, music theory, and much more!

If you’re ready to pick up the sax and play with confidence and enjoyment, I’d love to be the teacher to guide you along the way. See you soon!

About the lesson

I offer lessons on the Saxophone, Clarinet, and flute to all ages and skill levels. It’s never too late to pick up something new! We’ll begin with the fundamentals of producing a confident sound, having a strong technical approach, and finding your focus, whether that be Jazz, Classical, Pop, or whatever you’re passionate about.

I have had a diverse range of students over the years, and I pride myself on matching your specific needs as we progress. Everybody learns differently, and I want to give you the best possible experience. Otherwise, what’s the point! From jazz standards, bebop, bossa nova, etc., we’ll cover an expansive list of different genres, allowing you to play in any situation.

My lessons are one-to-one and fully personalised for each student. Once we’ve had a couple, I will start to create a syllabus specifically for you, to track progress, goals, and to have a roadmap on how you’re learning. I focus on keeping the experience fun, whilst ensuring steady improvement and confidence. Music is available for everyone, regardless of age or time in life. Are you ready to take the first step?
