About Siân

Hello! I am Siân, a calm, patient, and highly motivated recent graduate of the University of Cambridge who is passionate about helping students grow in confidence and succeed.
I have a strong academic background in the Humanities - despite having had a somewhat unorthodox schooling experience. I am therefore sensitive to the diversity of circumstances students can face in navigating their education, and seek to offer a personalised approach that is both kind and yet underpinned by high standards. I take great pleasure both in helping students to develop new skills and discover new capacities in themselves which they, or others, had not hitherto suspected, as well as in supporting those already earmarked as 'high-flyers' to refine and direct their talents towards their goals.

About the lesson

SUMMER 2026: Tailored summer intensives to prepare for the autumn term available!!

For all my students: I seek to offer a personalised approach following an initial meeting to ascertain what would be the most helpful approach for the individual student.

English Language and Literature students (for UK-based qualifications, or as a foreign language), RE/RS: Weekly or fortnightly lessons, regular homework, and detailed feedback. I seek to inspire increased confidence both in their own use of language, and in engaging with materials written by others. Sessions can be adjusted for specific syllabi as required.
Oxbridge Entrance and University Admissions: Personal Statement Advice and Interview Practice.
Great Books Courses: 12 weeks in duration, 90 minutes a session, at a slightly higher rate. Students are asked to prepare some material in advance (based on provided readings) which is then discussed, along with supplementary teaching on the topic. Get in touch for further details.
Hebrew Students: Weekly or fortnightly lessons. Seek to develop skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening (For Beginners Only).

N.B. Students with chronic illness/other educational needs are very welcome and they (or, where relevant, their parents) are invited to get in touch to discuss any adjustments that could be put in place to make the sessions more accessible.
