About Eddie

Hi! I'm a Cambridge student studying English, looking to a future career in education.
I've tutored multiple 12/13 year olds through successful secondary school applications to places like St. Paul's, Kings Wimbledon, Brighton College and Tonbridge.
I've worked in primary day schools in England and Sri Lanka, including the acclaimed Thomas's School in Clapham.
Although I'm passionate about English (which typically leaves children behind even at the best schools) I also studied Maths and History at A-Level, and have tutored students successfully in both.

Thanks for reading this far! In the past, I've found my best skill to be exam preparation - things like emotional preparation, exam technique and motivation. Often, the problems are as simple as bad relationships with teachers, poor working environments at school or small omissions in learning somewhere down the line. I won't waste your time - my approach is typically to go straight to the problem, addressing it or advising on people who can in the fewest sessions possible. However, as someone who's had first-hand experience suceeding in the complex and competitive London day school environment in the last 5 years I've found one of my skill is that I often understand these problems and the emotional issues around them more effectively than more senior tutors.

A lot of tutoring is about chemistry, and I won't always be the right man for the the job. However, I'm genuinely excited to teach and share my experience, and be the sort of help I never had. If you'd like to do a trial session without commitment, drop me a line and we can go from there!
