About Tessa
I work with Oxbridge Applications to help prospective applicants to Oxford and Cambridge improve their interview techniques and their applications.
I have a wide range of experience leading teenagers and children, most recently having worked as the Assistant Program Leader on the NCS program where I held responsibility for the pastoral care and behavioural management of seventy teenagers. I have also worked with autistic children in a charity for one year, as a mentor to an eight year old boy at a local primary school for a year, as a teaching assistant in a summer school for failing children entering secondary school, and as a teaching in a Spanish-speaking school in Cartagena, Colombia.

I am in my final year at the University of Cambridge, studying Human, Social and Political Sciences, and gained the highest mark of my year-group in the International Relations module last year.
Having done A Levels in History (A*), Politics (A*) and Geography (A), I am confident in tutoring students up to A Level standard in these subjects, and primary, KS3 or GCSE level in other subjects.
I also have dyspraxia, and so have a useful insight into the effects that learning disabilities have on an individual's way of learning, and understand that one method of group leadership/ teaching does not suit all. As such, I have a high degree of patience when teaching since I understand entirely that difficulties in learning 'like everyone else' in no way necessarily entail an unwillingness or inability to learn.
I am extremely interested in the education of young people, and in encouraging them to realise that doing schoolwork is not an obstacle to their social lives but is an investment in their own future which will pay off for the rest of their lives. I would love to be given the opportunity to inspire your child and to help them succeed.
