About Anna-Marie
Studies have proven that Body language is between 80-95% of our communication when speaking. The same concept exists with cats when they 'speak' to us. Cats are constating communicating with us, audibly and non-auditably. And, after years of working with, and studying them, there’s insights that just might change how you think about, and interact with, them.
I started as a behaviorist and came across a gap in common services offered by traditional rescues, so I set out to fill it.
Our Mission is to Improve the Life of Cats. The best way to explain it is that I focus on outside cats, cats with special needs - medical and behavioral, socialization and behavior modification. Commonly labeled 'feral', these cats are frequently put outside, where they don't have the skillset to survive, or unfortunately put down as there are few resources out there that handle non-friendlies or cats that need specialized care.
In working with this population, I have successfully turned many 'unwanted' cats into happy house cats.
When a cat comes in, along with the physical, I also do a behavioral assessment. I have assessed over 1500 cats over the years. However, a non-friendly, or feral is not easy, or always possible, to do the common exam, but that doesn’t mean you can’t address the same things, it just means you use less-conventional ways.
I will cover this, and many other topics, tailored to the audience. And I promise, Learning really can be fun.
I work with University Vet Schools, Government facilities, Humane Society, Students, fosters, volunteers, general public, and small and large shelters. I have a Masters in Global Business and my undergrad from the University of Michigan. I have taught in many settings and in many formats. I look forward to working with you!
