About Maria
I am a Spanish native teaching English since 2001.
I prepared IELTS on my own (7.5, year 2000) after having spent over a year working in London (bartender) and Amsterdam (tour operator).
In 2001 I started teaching In-company English to managers and directors and groups of workers in Barcelona and surrounding areas.
For over a decade I taught in all sorts of settings (language schools, Air hostesses Academy, multinationals, my own home...). My students were professionals working in a variety of fields (doctors, scientists, researchers, nurses, business people...) and I always enjoyed learning about their professions and providing the specific language they needed. I also taught funded classes for specific groups of workers (taxi drivers, shops assistants, admin, primary teachers, hotel and catering staff...)
I also taught First, CAE and IELTS one-on-one.
Now and then I came back to UK (worked in shops and call centres, directed a feature film, had some work experience with the BBC World Service) and will go back to teaching.
But after gaining some Cambridge certifications: Proficiency (C2) in 2013 and CELTA (Teaching English to Adults) in 2014, I started teaching in language schools in the UK. I have taught teens from all over the world!
Currently I am also a researcher, translator and interpreter working for British TV.
I have background studies in Journalism, International Relations and documentary filmmaking.

My lessons are for any non-native British worker that wants to feel more confident with English at work, open up to new professional opportunities or pass IELTS for General Training, IELTS for UKVI or any other ESOL exams.
Whatever your English level I will lead you, give you the tools, and motivate you all the way through, so you reach your goals within the chosen timeframe.
Online classes are 1 hour. Face to face could be 1h or 1h30
You would also need to study outside class, that could better be used to work on Listening and Speaking and responding questions/commenting corrections. But let's talk and decide that together.
