About Jon

Every lesson is tailored to your level, interests and objectives. Before we begin, we will discuss what you want to achieve and identify the areas where you would most benefit from focused practice.

Depending on your needs, lessons can cover:

Speaking and fluency: Develop confidence, express yourself more naturally and sustain conversations.

Pronunciation: Improve clarity, rhythm and intelligibility.

Grammar and vocabulary: Understand difficult structures and use a wider range of language accurately.

Listening and comprehension: Become more comfortable understanding spoken English in different situations.

Reading and writing: Improve your ability to understand texts and communicate your ideas clearly.

Practical communication: Prepare for conversations, travel, everyday situations and professional interactions.

I combine conversation with targeted exercises and constructive feedback. Rather than simply correcting mistakes, I explain why something needs to change and help you practise using the language more confidently.

Lessons can be adapted for beginners, intermediate learners and more advanced students. We can work through a structured programme or focus on specific challenges, depending on your preferences.

My aim is to help you become a more confident, independent user of English, with lessons that are practical, engaging and relevant to your life.

Get in touch to tell me about your current level and your goals. I would be happy to discuss how we can work together.

About the lesson

I am a CELTA-qualified English-language teacher with experience teaching learners from different backgrounds and helping adults develop their confidence in English. I have taught Business English to professionals and enjoy helping students use English more accurately, naturally and effectively in real-life situations.

My approach combines clear explanations, structured practice and plenty of opportunities to communicate. I aim to create a supportive learning environment in which you can ask questions, work through difficulties and make steady progress without feeling self-conscious about making mistakes.

I also hold a PhD in Politics and International Relations, alongside postgraduate qualifications in international affairs and strategic studies. My academic background has given me extensive experience working with complex texts, expressing ideas clearly and communicating across cultures.

Whether you want to improve your everyday English, prepare for life in an English-speaking country, communicate more confidently at work or develop your speaking and writing skills, I will tailor our lessons to your individual goals.
