About Anna
My name is Anna and I am a teacher in Brooklyn. I work in the NYC DOE and have done so for 5 years. I love working with my students on ELA content. My students have differing areas of struggle and focus. Currently, I work with 9th and 10th grade students ranging from autism, and learning disabilities to speech and language disabilities. I truly have a passion for education and literacy. I was a journalism major in college and have loved reading and writing ever since.
I am currently working on a second masters in my field so I am engrossed in all of the higher education systems that your students may one day encounter.

As a teacher I prepare my students for state exams such as the Regents, SATs, and any literacy-based exam they need to succeed.
I have a strong focus on reading comprehension and essay writing skills. Many students struggle with writing structures and understanding the content they are being tested on.
I find ways to break down exams and literature for my students. My students benefit from chunking work and being able to process small pieces of material at a time. Due to remote learning and students' short attention span, I find that working on pieces of information at a time helps students grasp their learning faster and with greater ease.
A typical lesson would consist of targeting an area of struggle and coming up with strategies to excel in that given area moving forward.
