About Erik
I am the lead 6th Grade General Studies teacher at Valley Beth Shalom Day School. I've been teaching and tutoring for the last 5 years: reading, writing, math, social studies, and ISEE/SSAT. My California certification is in Single Subject, English, and my M.Ed. is in Secondary English Education. Humanities is my strength but I've also been teaching math the last three years.

In my classroom I focus on relevant, real world project-based learning, in context mathematics, and writing tooled to purpose and audience.
