I have been teaching English for 9 years and have taught all ages an ability levels, from pre-school to doctoral candidates. I approach both individual and group classes with a student-centered, inquiry-based mindset. I first use a diagnostic evaluate strengths and weaknesses and use the results to make a learning plan. A typical lesson starts with me introducing a concept and then gradually scaffolding exercises so that the student can independently apply the concept by themselves.
