About Laura
My first degree is in Organizational Communications from The University of Texas in Austin. My degree there helped me understand how to succeed in difficult coursework. After that, I gained work experience, and then picked up my Teaching Certifications. I have had a wide array of jobs over the years. Including Retail Sales, and Management, Office Worker, Substitute Teacher, Tutor, Swim Instructor, and Real Estate Sales. My passion in life is learning and growing as a Christian person. I also have been married almost 30 years, and I have 2 sons, and currently have 3 pets. I also love tennis, and pickleball!

I like to stick to the basics. I can teach a student from where they are at. I have worked with some students over the years who have had various learning differences. I have 2 children who both have ADHD, and one of them is on the autism spectrum. I like to connect with my students as individuals, and I work to motivate them to want to do their best. I have also been a seasonal swim instructor for over 27 years.
