About Felestus

Hello! My name is Felestus, and I am passionate about helping students grow in confidence and achieve their academic goals. With a strong background in communication and education, I focus on creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their skills.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Manitoba, and I have several years of experience working in roles that require clear communication, patience, and problem-solving. These skills allow me to explain concepts clearly and adapt my teaching style to each student's individual needs.

My lessons are structured, engaging, and focused on practical understanding. I believe that learning should not feel overwhelming, so I break down complex ideas into simple, easy-to-understand steps. I also encourage active participation, because students learn best when they are involved and confident in their ability to succeed.

Whether you are looking to improve your English skills, strengthen your academic writing, or gain a better understanding of your coursework, I am here to help guide you through the process. My goal is not only to help you improve academically but also to help you build confidence in your abilities.

I look forward to supporting you on your learning journey!

About the lesson

My Approach as a Tutor

My approach to tutoring is structured, supportive, and results-driven. I believe learning is most effective when students feel comfortable asking questions and actively participating. I focus on building both understanding and confidence, ensuring students not only memorize content but truly grasp the concepts behind it.

Teaching Methodology & Techniques

I use a blended teaching methodology that combines:

• Clear concept breakdown – I simplify complex topics into manageable steps.
• Interactive learning – I encourage discussion, questions, and practical application.
• Real-life examples – I connect theory to real-world situations to deepen understanding.
• Active recall and practice – Short exercises during lessons to reinforce learning.
• Constructive feedback – I provide specific guidance on strengths and improvement areas.

For language-based subjects, I focus on conversation practice, pronunciation correction, vocabulary expansion, and structured writing exercises.
For academic subjects, I emphasize analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and exam strategies.

A Typical Lesson Plan

A standard lesson usually follows this structure:

1. Quick Review (5–10 minutes)
We revisit previous material to reinforce retention and identify any gaps.

2. Core Lesson (20–30 minutes)
Introduction of a new topic using clear explanations, examples, and guided practice.

3. Application & Practice (15–20 minutes)
Exercises, problem-solving, discussion, or role-play depending on the subject.

4. Feedback & Action Plan (5–10 minutes)
I summarize key takeaways, answer questions, and assign light practice if needed.

Lessons are always adapted based on the student’s pace and goals.

# What Sets Me Apart

• I create a calm and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes.
• I focus on clarity and structure, ensuring no concept feels overwhelming.
• I adapt quickly to different learning styles.
• I emphasize practical results — improved grades, better exam performance, or increased fluency.
• I track progress to ensure consistent improvement over time.

My background in communication-focused roles has strengthened my ability to explain ideas clearly and patiently.

My lessons are suitable for:

• High school students needing academic support
• University students requiring help with essays, exam preparation, or subject comprehension
• Adult learners seeking professional or conversational improvement
• ESL learners at beginner to advanced levels
• Students preparing for exams or presentations

Each lesson is customized based on the learner’s level, goals, and timeline
