About Quentin
I am a certified English Language Arts teacher for grades 6–12 with classroom experience working with middle and high school students at a variety of skill levels. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing and a master’s degree in Business Entertainment, which allows me to bring both strong communication skills and creativity into my teaching.
As an educator, I understand that every student learns differently. My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and improving their skills. I take the time to identify each student’s strengths and areas for growth, then adjust my instruction to meet their individual needs.
I have experience teaching reading comprehension, essay writing, grammar, vocabulary, literary analysis, and test preparation. I have also worked with English-language learners and students who need additional academic support. Whether a student is struggling with the basics or looking to strengthen already solid skills, I provide clear explanations, structured practice, and constructive feedback.
Professionalism, patience, and consistency are extremely important to me. Parents and students can expect lessons that are organized, focused, and designed around clear academic goals. My purpose is not simply to help students complete an assignment, but to help them develop the skills and confidence they can continue using long after our tutoring sessions end.

My approach as a tutor is centered on making reading and writing clear, engaging, and manageable for every student. I believe students learn best when lessons are broken into simple steps, modeled clearly, and followed by guided practice before they are expected to work independently. I use the “I Do, We Do, You Do” method so students can first see a skill demonstrated, practice it with support, and then apply it confidently on their own.
A typical lesson begins with a short warm-up or review activity to identify what the student already understands. I then introduce or reteach the targeted skill using clear explanations, examples, and modeling. Next, we work through several examples together while I ask questions and provide immediate feedback. The student then completes independent practice so I can check for understanding and determine what should be reviewed or strengthened during the next lesson.
What sets me apart is my ability to adjust instruction based on the individual student. As a certified English Language Arts teacher for grades 6–12 with a background in Creative Writing, I understand both the academic and creative sides of English. I also have experience working with students who struggle with reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and English-language development. I focus on building confidence while still challenging students to improve.
My lessons are designed primarily for middle and high school students, including students who need additional support, students learning English, and students who want to strengthen their reading or writing skills. I can assist with reading comprehension, essay writing, argumentative and informative writing, grammar, vocabulary, literary analysis, test preparation, and general ELA support. Lessons can also be adapted for advanced students who want to become stronger and more effective writers.
