About Sarah

I am a lover of learning. I am currently in a double-emphasis Master's program in literacy with an emphasis in gifted education and bilingual education. I have taught in a classroom for three years, student taught for one year, have multiple extra credentials (I love to learn new things for my students), and I have tutored, been a teacher's assistant, and a school volunteer during my four years of my undergraduate college time. I enjoy teaching students in both one-on-one and group environments, depending on your preference and needs. My ultimate focus as a teacher and tutor is YOU.

About the lesson

I have taught Montessori and project-based learning, meaning, my lessons are hands-on, fun, and engaging. I also focus on student choice, allowing you to have a say in what and how we complete learning. Lastly, I love to use what you are interested in for our lessons. If you love dogs, cats, cars, farming, family, etc., we will find ways to incorporate that!
I love to be known as the fun, patient, and engaging teacher and am willing to try new methods of teaching for YOU. I am happy to teach Kindergarten-8th grade social studies and language arts; Kindergarten-6th grade math and science. I am also happy to teach K-12 reading and writing skills. I have taught Kindergarten and 3rd grade for student teaching, 4th-6th grade Montessori (all subjects), and 7th-8th grade language arts and social studies. I have an endorsement in literacy education K-12, as well as ELL and gifted education endorsements that will be completed at the end of July 2023. If you have areas that you struggle in, are an advanced student, or are learning English, I have done all three and would LOVE to work with you!
