About Maryam
About Me: Hi, I’m a student with a deep love for teaching children, especially those who are new to learning English. I believe that education shouldn’t just be about following a rigid system; it should be about connecting with kids in a way that makes them feel understood, empowered, and excited to learn. I’ve always found that children learn best when they’re encouraged to be themselves, and I focus on teaching methods that embrace creativity, individuality, and real-world experiences. Why I’m Passionate: I’m passionate about teaching because I truly understand how important it is to support kids, especially when they’re learning something as challenging as a new language. I’ve been in their shoes, and I know how frustrating it can feel to not be able to communicate the way you want to. That’s why I want to be the kind of teacher who makes learning easier, more enjoyable, and more personal for each student. Helping kids who are learning English is something I really care about because I know that language is also a strong form of expression. I believe in giving each child the tools they need to succeed, not just in language, but in life.

My Teaching Philosophy: What really drives me is the belief that learning should be a fun, engaging process, not just something kids have to get through. I want to create a classroom where children feel safe to ask questions, express themselves, and take risks without the pressure of being judged. This is especially important for kids learning a new language, as I know it can be intimidating. My teaching style is all about making them feel confident and capable, which helps them break through barriers and truly embrace the language they’re learning. I think the traditional school system often misses the mark by focusing too much on memorisation and testing, which doesn’t always help kids who learn differently. That’s why I try to take a different approach. Instead of following a strict curriculum, I tailor my lessons to each child’s strengths and interests, using storytelling, art, and hands-on activities that make learning feel real and enjoyable. My Experience: Over the years, I’ve developed a real understanding of how kids think and learn. I’ve had the opportunity to work with children of different ages and one thing I’ve learned is that every child is unique, and it’s important to meet them where they’re at, whether they’re just starting to learn English as a beginner or they’ve been studying it for a while as a native. Storytelling is one of my favourite teaching tools because it makes language come alive. Kids connect to stories, and they can learn new vocabulary and grammar in a way that feels natural. I also love encouraging them to write their own stories and poems, which not only helps with their language skills but also builds their confidence and creativity. By creating a space where kids can share their ideas and be proud of their work, I aim to help them feel more comfortable with the language and themselves. My Approach to Teaching English: Storytelling & Creative Writing: I love using stories to help kids learn. They’re a fun way to introduce new words and phrases, and they help children engage with the language in a meaningful way. Plus, I encourage kids to create their own stories, which helps them practise writing while also expressing themselves creatively. Interactive Learning: I think learning should be hands-on. So I try to incorporate games, activities, and videos into lessons, which makes the material more engaging and memorable. I want kids to be excited about learning, not just go through the motions. Empathy & Patience: I know that learning a new language can be overwhelming, so I try to be patient and understanding with my students. I create a supportive environment where they can ask questions, make mistakes, and feel safe doing so. The goal is always to build confidence, one step at a time. Building Confidence: One of my main goals is to help children feel good about their progress. I always make sure to celebrate their successes, no matter how small, and encourage them to keep going, even when things feel difficult. When kids feel like they’re improving, they’re more likely to stay motivated and take on challenges. Let’s Connect: If you’re a parent, teacher, or anyone who’s interested in helping children learn, I’d love to connect and chat. Whether you’re looking for advice, resources, or just someone who shares your passion for teaching kids, feel free to reach out. I believe that with the right support, every child can succeed, and I’d be happy to help make that happen. Age: 4-11 years, depending on the child's needs. I will let you know if I'm able to give them what they need. Length of lesson: 3mins-2 hours depending on parents and the child's wishes. I do not have any teaching qualifications as for now but I carry valuable experience.
