About Heliya

English is my second language, so I understand the struggles that students learning English could experience.

I enjoy teaching and tutoring because I find it rewarding to help students overcome challenges and gain confidence in subjects that may initially feel difficult because I was also one of them.

Everyone learns differently, and I believe that with the right explanation and guidance, any student can improve their understanding and achieve their goals.

My aim as a tutor is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their skills step by step. I take pride in being patient, professional, and committed to helping each student succeed.

About the lesson

I am a Civil Engineering graduate from New Zealand with extensive experience tutoring English at both high school and university levels. Over the years, I have helped students improve their essays, reports, analytical writing, and overall academic performance.

My tutoring approach is highly personalized and structured, focusing on adapting each lesson to the student’s learning style and academic goals. I emphasize clear explanations, guided practice, and real examples to help students build confidence and develop strong writing skills. In each class, I break down concepts into simple, manageable steps and gradually increase the level of complexity as the student progresses. Lessons typically include text analysis, writing practice, review of previous work, and the development of effective exam strategies. I also provide model responses and targeted feedback so students can immediately apply what they learn.

Most lessons run for 60 minutes, although 90-minute sessions are available for HSC students or those needing more in-depth academic or report-writing support.

My lessons are suitable for a wide range of learners, including Year 7–10 students developing foundational literacy, HSC English students seeking stronger exam results, university students working on academic writing, and adults aiming to improve their communication and professional writing skills. I am committed to helping every student achieve clear, measurable progress and long-term success.
