About Imogen
I'm Imogen and I'm currently in my second year of university, studying Classics. I have A*s in both Latin and Ancient Greek at A Level.
I have taken Latin and Greek both since I was 11 and initially couldn't stand them. It took time and good teaching for my love for them to grow and now, as an undergraduate, I think it's gutting that so many people miss out on Classics because of poor teaching!
Having started young, whichever level of Latin or Greek you're working towards, I have been there!
In my free time at uni, I play Lacrosse and dabble in my fair share of Scottish Reeling! I'm a keen skier and love a quality cappuccino.

I typically teach 1-hour lessons to students studying for Common Entrance or GCSE.
I gear my lessons towards the areas of the subjects that students struggle with most, be it language or literature. The particular areas of focus will be different for each student, and I'll happily discuss this beforehand to establish where our time would be best spent.
The trouble with Latin and Greek is that they're surrounded by needless jargon and over-complication, particularly for school pupils. This was something I struggled with at school until I was taught in a way that was clear and structured. Often, all it takes is for one point to fall into place for the languages to start making some sense! For this reason, I tutor students in the most basic and easy to understand language, building up their understanding so that more nuanced content is properly anchored in the basics.
I spent time during my A-Levels tutoring younger students for their GCSEs, and taught English abroad on my gap year.
