College graduate offering academic tutoring, mentoring and care taking for K-12th graders

Methodology

I recently graduated from the University of West Florida with my B.A. in Teaching & Learning with a minor in ESOL (teaching English to non-native speakers) and ESE (special education). I currently am studying for my first teacher exam which is for Prek-3rd grade. I will also be taking teacher exams for special education, social studies and english for 6-12th grade. I am hoping to attend graduate school by summer 2017 for either traditional history or political science. After that I will be going to get my doctorate and teach college classes. I have studied abroad in Japan and Germany so I work very well with diverse populations. I did exceptionally well throughout my college courses graduating Magna Cum Laude (high honors).

Background

I was a hired tutor for the University of West Florida in reading and math for K-5th grade at a local elementary school 3 years ago. We did whole-group and one-on-one instruction. The teaching methods I use are based on the student's needs and how he or she learns best. I do exceptionally well with struggling readers and have attended multiple sessions on how to improve phonemic awareness and phonics skills. I have had to have over 300 hours in the classroom teaching lessons from finding the main idea in first grade to teaching about the respiratory system to fifth graders. I have volunteered at different schools for various grade levels to specifically work with children with special needs in the classroom. My main objective was to improve their academic and social skills.
