About Kelsi renee

I am a freshman in college studying Biochemistry. Although my major may make it seem like I wouldn't be interested in English, I actually have a strong foundation in the subject. I passed my AP English Language and Composition exam with a 4 and my AP English Literature and Composition exam with a 5. I am strong in essay writing and have helped many of my peers with writing during high school. I have experience tutoring as I was President of Mu Alpha Theta and Phi Beta Chi, which are math and science tutoring based clubs. I was an AP Capstone student earning my AP Capstone Diploma in Seminar and Research. This means that I have a strong foundation in writing research papers and expanding on a thesis. I believe I am very relatable and approachable, and honestly would just like to help with whatever I can.

About the lesson

I use a mix of structured learning and conversational practice:
-Communicative approach: Students speak as much as possible during lessons
-Personalized learning: Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals
-Error correction with explanation: I correct mistakes in a supportive way and explain why
-Real-life materials: Videos, articles, and conversations instead of just textbooks
-Active recall & repetition: Helps students actually remember vocabulary and grammar
-Confidence building: I create a low-pressure environment so students feel comfortable speaking

Typical Lesson Plan
A standard session (45–60 minutes) might look like this:
-Warm-up (5–10 min)
Casual conversation or a quick review of previous material
-Main Lesson (15–20 min)
Focus on a specific topic (grammar point, vocabulary theme, or skill like writing or listening)
-Practice (15–20 min)
Speaking exercises, role-play, or real-life scenarios
-Feedback & Corrections (5–10 min)
Review mistakes and give tips for improvement
-Optional Homework
Short, practical assignments (writing, vocabulary, or listening)
