About Jon

Hello! My name is Jon, and teaching is not only a job for me, but one of my biggest life passions. After graduating with honors and a double major of Media and Cultural Studies and French/Francophone studies from Macalester College, I went on to earn my MFA in Screenwriting and Directing at Columbia University in New York. I am currently preparing to go back to school to become a lawyer and public defender. Since graduating from undergrad, I've taught at the high school, college, and graduate levels with a diverse student body. I look forward to working with students of all ages, skill levels, and neurodivergencies.

My teaching style can best be described as direct, empathetic, and engaging. I'm a big proponent of breaking things down into small, manageable pieces and "conquering" them to build your confidence and knowledge quickly.

About the lesson

Need help improving your academic writing? No problem, let's get editing! Using my experience as a graduate teaching assistant and professor, I will craft a custom lesson plan based on your learning needs and goals. For younger students, these lesson plans will be discussed and approved in consultation with parents. Material covered in each session as well as session frequency will vary depending on the package chosen and the student's needs.
