About Poojita

Hello! My name is Poojita Sharan and I’m a Rutgers University graduate with a dual degree in Communication and Religion. I currently work at Accenture as a Problem Manager, where my role involves clear and effective communication, a skill I’ve brought into my work as a tutor.

Even though I have strong writing skills, let me tell you a little secret: I actually hate writing. I’ve never been a fan of it, but I’ve found that just because you don’t enjoy something doesn’t mean you can’t be good at it—and that’s exactly why I’m here to help.

For the past few years, I’ve been helping friends, peers, and underclassmen with their essays, résumés, and personal statements. Over time, I realized how rewarding it is to see their confidence grow and their writing improve. Now, I’m excited to bring my experience to a broader platform, where I can help students I’ve never met reach their full potential.

I’m passionate about making writing less intimidating and more approachable. Whether you need help proofreading an essay, building a standout résumé, or crafting a compelling personal statement, I’m here to support you every step of the way. My approach is patient, personalized, and focused on helping you develop your own skills and voice as a writer.

By the end of our sessions, I promise writing will feel more like a practical communication skill—something you can master and apply across various types of contexts. It will be far more approachable and manageable, and you’ll feel much more confident in your abilities.

About the lesson

I believe in a collaborative, hands-on approach to writing. Rather than simply correcting mistakes, I focus on helping you understand the “why” behind revisions, empowering you to improve independently. I use a combination of detailed feedback, real-world examples, and guided practice to sharpen writing skills in grammar, structure, tone, and clarity.

Typical Lesson Plan:
-Assessment & Goal-Setting: We begin by discussing your writing goals, reviewing any existing work, and identifying key areas to focus on (e.g., clarity, flow, argument strength).
-Focused Skill Development: We dive into specific writing components—whether it’s improving a thesis, enhancing sentence structure, or polishing grammar—tailored to your needs.
-Live Editing Session: I guide you through revising your work in real-time, offering explanations for each change and suggestions for future improvement.
