Conservatory-trained classical flutist offering lessons backed by music theory, science-based practice strategies, and the Alexander Technique.

I had the chance to take (regrettably only) a few lessons with Josephine when she substituted my regular teacher. She was by far my favorite substitute and I was looking forward to see her again. As a teacher she has been "ideal" - at least for me - caring, helpful, supportive. She picked up on minute technical deficiencies and helped to fix them.
Her most outstanding quality is that she has an exceptional sound on the flute and she could help me to improve my sound. If I had to move to LA, no doubt I would try to become a regular student of hers.

Josephine is a highly-skilled and generous teacher! She explains concepts clearly and creates a welcoming environment for players of any level. I would highly recommend working with her!

As a long-time friend of Josephine, I’ve witnessed her growth as a musician and teacher since high school through post-graduate. She is always super enthusiastic and friendly to her peers and is patient, knowledgable and engaging with her students. I highly recommend Josephine to help guide your musical journey :)

I first encountered Josephine as my Graduate Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University in the Fall of 2023, and subsequently hired her as a member of my private studio's substitute teaching staff. Josephine is exceptional at everything she does, including teaching. My students adored her from day one! Josephine is a kind, enthusiastic, and engaging teacher. She is the type of teacher from whom a flutist of any age and level can receive valuable wisdom and instruction. She is a self-starter, a born leader, and a wonderful colleague. I highly recommend her!
