I’m a passionate conversational English tutor with a focus on creating a supportive and comfortable learning environment. With a patient and friendly approach, I help students build their confidence and achieve their language goals. I understand the importance of clear communication and I take pride in adapting my lessons to meet each student’s unique needs. Whether you're new to English or looking to refine your conversational skills, I am committed to helping you succeed every step of the way. I've spoken English my entire life and have a strong grasp on the language. I grew up in Singapore and moved to Canada when I was 15. I hold a BA (Economics) from Simon Fraser University and currently live in Vancouver, BC.

About the lesson

As a conversational English tutor, I believe that the best way to learn a language is through real-life, practical conversations. I focus on creating a relaxed and supportive environment where you can feel comfortable practicing English without fear of making mistakes. My approach revolves around building your confidence while expanding your vocabulary and improving your pronunciation. A Typical Lesson Plan: Warm-Up (5-10 minutes): We start with casual conversation to get you comfortable speaking English. This helps ease into the lesson and build rapport. Focus Topic (15-20 minutes): We dive into a specific topic or theme of your choice (e.g., travel, current events, daily life), and I guide you through vocabulary, expressions, and sentence structure. Practice (15-20 minutes): You’ll engage in structured conversations or role-playing exercises that help reinforce what we’ve covered. I offer instant feedback to help you improve your grammar, pronunciation, and fluency. Wrap-Up (5-10 minutes): I summarize key points, answer any questions and provide suggestions for independent practice until our next lesson. I’m not just a tutor; I’m a mentor who listens and adapts to your unique learning style. I focus on building a genuine connection with my students, making them feel comfortable and heard. My friendly and patient nature allows students to feel at ease while learning a new language. I tailor each lesson to your specific needs, whether it’s improving conversational skills, grammar, or vocabulary. My goal is to make learning English fun while also meeting your ultimate goals!
