About Nicola
I studied Fine Art for my first degree, then went on to work in prop making for museums and shop display. In the meantime, some of my short stories were published in magazines and I completed an MA in Creative writing. I began to work as a Creative writing tutor with the Open University, also teaching other arts subjects such as history, art history and English literature. I attained my PhD in 2019.

I am a student centred teacher, designing lessons to suit the individual rather than a 'one size fits all' approach. I have a lot of experience working with FE and undergraduate students with additional needs. I encourage my students to explore their creativity, take risks with their writing and develop skills to take into the workplace and everyday life.
