About Marwa
I’m a passionate English tutor with two years of experience, helping students from KS1 to A-Level build confidence and improve their skills. My love for English started in school, where I enjoyed analysing literature and developing creative writing techniques. That passion led me to study English at A-Level and further apply my knowledge in my university studies. I know how important it is to have the right support and guidance. And seeing students grow in confidence, tackle exam questions with ease, and feel proud of their progress is what motivates me. Whether you're struggling with essays, analysis, or creative writing, I’m here to make learning clear, enjoyable, and rewarding.

I adapt my tutoring approach to suit each student, focusing on building confidence and understanding in English. I break down complex topics into clear, structured steps. For GCSE and A-Level students, I emphasise exam techniques like PEEL for essays, contextual analysis for literature, and the five senses method for creative writing. If a student struggles with poetry or analysis, I guide them through short exercises to help them identify literary techniques and develop their own interpretations. One effective method is my five-minute technique hunt, where students quickly scan a poem and highlight literary devices like metaphors, alliteration, or enjambment right before diving into the meaning of the poem. We then discuss their significance before applying this skill to exam-style analysis. Another exercise involves writing a one-sentence summary of a poem's theme, encouraging clarity in interpretation before diving into deeper analysis. Lessons typically last one hour and include a mix of exam-style questions, past papers, discussions, and detailed feedback. With two years of tutoring experience, I have worked with students from KS1 to A-Level, tailoring lessons to different learning styles—whether a student needs extra support or is aiming for top grades.
