About Carlie
Hi! My name is Carlie, and I am currently majoring in philosophy while preparing for a future career in law. My academic background has strengthened my skills in critical thinking, communication, reading comprehension, writing, and analytical reasoning, all of which I bring into my tutoring approach.
I am passionate about helping students build confidence in themselves and their abilities while creating a supportive and welcoming learning environment. I understand that every student learns differently, so I always try to adapt lessons to fit each student’s pace and individual needs. My goal is to make learning feel approachable, encouraging, and productive rather than stressful or intimidating.
Through my experience working with children and students, I have developed strong patience, communication, and problem-solving skills. I genuinely enjoy helping students improve academically while also encouraging them to feel more confident asking questions and expressing themselves.

Hi! My name is Carlie, and my approach to tutoring is all about creating a comfortable and supportive environment where students feel okay making mistakes, asking questions, and learning at their own pace. I know that English can feel overwhelming sometimes, especially for students who struggle with confidence, so I try to make lessons feel more relaxed, engaging, and personalized rather than strict or intimidating.
I usually teach through conversation, practice activities, reading and writing exercises, and real-life examples that make learning feel more natural. I like to adjust my teaching style depending on the student and what works best for them. Some students learn best through discussion, while others prefer visuals, repetition, or step-by-step explanations.
A typical lesson with me usually starts with checking in and reviewing anything we worked on previously. Then we move into the main lesson, whether that’s grammar, reading comprehension, vocabulary, pronunciation, writing help, or conversational English. I always leave room for questions and try to keep lessons interactive so students stay involved and comfortable.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my patience and ability to connect with students individually. I have experience working with children and students from different backgrounds, and I genuinely enjoy helping people feel more confident in themselves and their abilities. I understand that every student learns differently, and I never want anyone to feel judged or rushed while learning.
My lessons are great for beginner and intermediate English learners, children, middle school and high school students, or anyone looking for extra support with speaking, writing, reading, grammar, or overall confidence in English. Whether someone needs homework help, conversational practice, or just a little extra encouragement, I try to make learning feel approachable and positive.
