About Duru

Hello! My name is Duru, and I am currently a law student in a Russell Group university. I completed both my GCSEs and A-Levels in the UK, achieving high grades throughout my studies, which has given me strong academic English, essay writing and communication skills.

I offer personalised English lessons tailored to each student’s goals, whether that is improving conversational fluency, grammar and pronunciation, preparing for GCSEs, or developing stronger essay writing and analytical skills for A level exams.

My teaching approach is supportive, patient and fully adapted to the student’s pace and learning style. I am organised, professional and genuinely committed to helping students achieve their goals and enjoy the learning process.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is friendly, supportive and fully adapted to each student’s individual goals and learning style. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and actively engaging in lessons, so I always aim to create a positive and encouraging environment.

For English language learners, I focus on improving speaking confidence, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and real-life communication skills through interactive conversations, reading exercises and practical activities. For academic students, including GCSE and A level, I also provide support with essay writing, critical analysis, comprehension and exam preparation. I adapt the pace and structure of lessons depending on the student’s level and needs.

My teaching methodology combines explanation, practice and active feedback. I like to use examples, discussion-based learning and step-by-step guidance to help students fully understand topics rather than simply memorising information. I also provide personalised tips and exercises to strengthen weaker areas and build confidence over time.

Lessons are typically 1 hour long, although longer sessions can also be arranged if needed. I teach students of different ages and levels, including beginners learning English as a second language, school students preparing for exams, and university students wanting to improve academic English and writing skills.

As a law student studying in the UK, I have strong experience in academic writing, communication and analytical skills, and I have tutoring experience helping others improve their English in both academic and conversational settings. My aim is always to make lessons engaging, productive and tailored to each student’s goals.
