About Riley

Hello! My name is Riley and I am a student studying business management at Miami University-Hamilton. I have years of experience with professional writing as well as high-school level literature and writing. I enjoy math, statistics is my favorite category and love to learn new ways to solve problems and teach others on both subjects!

ESSAY WRITING:
1. Introduction to essay writing
-Explain the purpose of essays and the different types of essays (e.g. persuasive, argumentative, descriptive)
-Discuss the basic structure of an essay (introduction, body paragraphs, conclusion)
2. Brainstorming and topic selection
-Teach students how to brainstorm ideas for their essays
-Help students choose a topic that interests them and is appropriate for the assignment
3. Thesis statement and outline
-Explain the importance of a strong thesis statement
-Guide students in creating an outline for their essay to organize their thoughts and arguments
4. Writing the introduction
-Discuss strategies for writing a compelling introduction that grabs the reader’s attention
-Provide examples of effective introductions
5. Developing arguments and supporting evidence
-Teach students how to support their arguments with evidence and examples
-Help students connect their evidence to their thesis statement
6. Writing effective body paragraphs
-Discuss how to structure body paragraphs and transition between ideas
-Provide guidance on incorporating quotes and citations
7. Writing the conclusion
-Explain the purpose of the conclusion and how to effectively wrap up the essay
-Teach students how to reiterate their thesis statement and summarize their main points
8. Revising and editing
-Guide students in revising their essays for clarity, coherence, and flow
-Teach students how to edit for grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors
9. Peer review and feedback
-Encourage students to exchange essays with a peer for feedback
-Provide guidance on how to give constructive criticism and incorporate feedback into their writing
10. Finalizing the essay
