About Jake
I am 22 from London and am a recent MSc CS graduate from St Andrews, going forward I will be pursuing my PhD at Technical University Vienna (TU Wien) focusing on complexity theory / logic. I picked up tutoring some time ago largely over a passion for what I do. One day I would love to become a professor and teaching students hard concepts and more importantly showing them the beauty of this subject is a dream for me. I had struggled with these concepts myself for many years until I met the perfect teacher and it really changed my whole view on these things. I still keep in touch with several of my old students, if you would like a reference for me I can of course make this possible. If you are curious about my academic accolades: - I achieved a 1st class undergraduate degree in CS. - I am predicted to achieve a distinction in my MSc. - I am in the process of publishing my first journal piece on constraint programming. - ... (For further, I can send over my CV if this is any concern).

My lessons are simple and flexible. If you have a plan in mind (namely a curriculum or tutorials etc...) you would like to cover, this will be the focus. If not I will spend time creating a mixture of exercises and conversation starters that we could work on. I appreciate our time is valuable so often this will require prep from both parties to ensure we get the most of the lessons (interactivity is the key here). Lessons have no set length, this is often a progressive thing. I have been tutoring for a couple of years now over a range of levels, typically I teach undergraduate students or above in theoretical computer science but am more than happy to teach some younger students too.
