About Harry
About Me
I bring a genuinely rare combination of qualifications and hands-on industry experience to my tutoring practice. With over 35 years working across structural drafting, engineering, construction management, building consultancy and law, I have lived and worked through the very challenges that my students are learning about in the classroom.
I hold a Bachelor of Engineering, a Juris Doctor and am admitted to legal practice. I am a Registered Builder and an experienced structural draftsman.
I currently teach Building, Construction and Engineering at
one of Victoria's leading TAFE institutes, where I deliver units across the Certificate IV and Diploma levels to apprentices and early-career construction professionals.
My industry background is not merely academic — I have managed construction projects, prepared and administered contracts, navigated building regulations and provided expert building consultancy across residential and commercial sectors.
This depth of practical experience means I can explain not just what the answer is, but why it matters in the real world.
I am passionate about helping students succeed and firmly believe that the best learning happens when theory is connected to practice.

About My Lessons
My tutoring sessions draw on over 35 years of real-world industry experience across engineering, construction management, building consultancy and law. I don't just teach theory — I bring actual site experience, contract disputes, structural design challenges and regulatory compliance problems into every session, making abstract concepts genuinely meaningful for students.
My approach is practical and student-centered. I tailor each session to where the student is struggling, whether that's understanding structural principles, navigating the National Construction Code, unpacking a contract clause or working through a WHS scenario. I use real industry examples, worked problems and case studies drawn directly from my professional experience.
Sessions are suited to:
TAFE students enrolled in CPC40120, CPC50220, 22699VIC or CPC60121
Apprentices and early-career construction professionals
Students preparing for assessments or struggling with specific units
Anyone needing to bridge the gap between classroom theory and industry practice
Lesson details:
Delivered entirely online via video call
Typically 60 to 90 minutes per session
