About Lily
I am a first-year honors student in Criminology at Carleton University with a strong academic foundation and a genuine love for English. I graduated high school with honors and have a particular passion for literary fiction and essay writing. One of my favorite parts of writing is crafting strong hooks and attention-grabbers that immediately engage the reader. The biggest challenge I see for students struggling with English is putting their thoughts into words. My lessons focus on bridging that gap by helping students organize ideas, expand vocabulary, and express themselves effectively. I use a supportive, step-by-step teaching approach that combines discussion, examples, and guided writing practice.
A typical lesson includes brainstorming ideas together, breaking down structure, practicing writing or reading skills, and reviewing work with constructive feedback. What sets me apart is my ability to teach from a student’s perspective. As a first-year university student who graduated high school with honours, I understand modern academic expectations. My lessons are designed for middle school, high school, seeking support in English, reading, cover letter preparation, essay writing, and creative writing.
