About Karen

I have specialized in test preparation for the SAT, ACT, HSPT, COOP, SSAT, and ISEE for the past seven years. I assist students and their families throughout the application process with essay writing, testing, and interviewing to gain admission to the college or preparatory school of their choice. I have over five years of experience working at the collegiate level assisting students with career counseling, internships, resume writing, job interviewing, and social media presence. I have also worked with students in grades K-12 as a certified district tutor, substitute teacher, special needs educator, and one-on-one paraprofessional for over five years.

About the lesson

I tutor students with an individualized approach to help with study skills, test-taking strategies, homework assistance, organizational tips, and retention tools that instill confidence in learning. I use a customized, patient, and positive approach toward learning that shows students they can achieve anything. I see the potential in every student. When you believe in them, they believe in themselves.

Valentina's daughter, Karina, is bright and motivated. She works hard to achieve her goals. The High School Placement Test (HSPT) can be stressful without doing test prep. Once we reviewed the sections of the test and the strategies for success, Karina felt more comfortable. Now, we're waiting for the test score.
