About Tania
I am a very well experienced tutor, mentor, facilitator, lecturer assistant and lecturer who has worked with over 100 students from primary school up to university level. I am currently studying towards my doctorate (Doctor of Literature and Philosophy in English). My studies have exposed me to various fields in English which is more interesting and inspiring to learn. From first year up to this level I have been equipped with the knowledge, skills, and techniques on how to be a better writer, mentor, tutor, teacher and so many other related English career prospects. I graduated with a Master of Arts degree in English Language & Comparative Literature from the University of Fort Hare.

My approach of teaching is based on the belief that learning needs to be student oriented and that students need to be equal partners in the learning process. I try to help these students use their prior knowledge and test it against what is presented in class. This acts as a base on which to build greater understanding and resources to answer their questions. I believe that as an instructor, one must create a safe environment that is interactive and collaborative. I encourage students to participate by asking questions and give their views on the material we are covering. I believe that effective learning is comprised of two necessary and related components: knowledge of the content and the ability to communicate it. I organize my PowerPoint presentations with the student's learning in mind and I keep the knowledge up to date.
