About Sayar
I am a Doctoral Research Scholar at the Department of Film Studies at Jadavpur University. I used to be an engineer before but was severely dissatisfied with the corporate world and hence joined the Film Studies postgraduate course at Jadavpur University where I excelled. This also gave me the opportunity to learn ancient languages like Latin and delve into Classics. As a token of my passion for language, I secured a summa cum laude certificate and a gold medal from the American Classical League at their National Latin Exam as well as a red ribbon at National Greek Exam, both conducted in the USA. I believe under current circumstances, an emphasis on humanities subjects is of the utmost importance from the rudimentary stages of education in order to build empathy indispensable for building a better future and critical thinking skills.
