About Aileen

Hi, I'm Aileen! I'm a native English speaker with experience tutoring primary school-aged children, and I'm passionate about helping young learners discover their voice in the English language. About the lesson

My Approach to Tutoring
As a native English speaker with tutoring experience, I bring a warm and encouraging energy to every session. I believe young learners thrive when they feel comfortable and confident, so I keep my lessons conversational and relaxed rather than rigidly structured. My goal is for kids to enjoy learning English, not feel intimidated by it.
Techniques & Methodology
I use a mix of storytelling, guided reading, games, and open-ended conversation to keep children engaged. I tailor each session to the individual child and adapt my language, pace, and activities to match how they learn best. I focus heavily on building confidence through positive reinforcement, celebrating small wins to keep motivation high.
Lesson Length
Lessons are typically 45–60 minutes, which I find is the sweet spot for primary-aged children as it is long enough to cover meaningful ground, but short enough to hold their attention and avoid fatigue.
Qualifications & Experience
I am a native English speaker with hands-on experience tutoring young learners. My sessions draw on my strong grasp of the language alongside practical experience working with children to develop their reading, writing, and communication skills.
Who My Lessons Are For
My lessons are designed for primary school-aged children (roughly 5–14 years old), from complete beginners building foundational skills to students looking to strengthen their reading fluency, vocabulary, and spoken confidence.
