About Petunia
I am a passionate Drama teacher and creative mentor who believes in the power of storytelling to transform confidence, communication, and character. From a young age, I fell in love with the stage — not just for the performance itself, but for what it does to people. I’ve seen how Drama helps students break out of their shell, discover their voice, and learn to express themselves in ways they never thought possible. That’s why I teach — because Drama isn’t just about acting, it’s about confidence, empathy, and self-discovery. I currently teach Drama to students at an international school, and I’ve had the privilege of working with learners from many different cultural backgrounds. I love guiding my students through the creative process — from exploring a script to building a character, and finally stepping into the spotlight with pride. For me, teaching Drama is more than a job — it’s a calling. It’s about helping young people find their courage, creativity, and confidence, both on stage and in life. Whether you’re preparing for a school performance, an exam, or simply want to explore your talent, I’m here to support you every step of the way. In my classes, you’ll find a space that’s safe, inspiring, and full of energy — a place where you can take risks, make mistakes, laugh, learn, and grow. Hi there! I’m Petunia, a passionate Drama teacher who believes that every student has a story worth telling — and Drama is the perfect space to discover that voice. My approach is creative, confidence-building, and tailored to each learner’s personality and goals. My Teaching Style & Methodology My lessons are highly interactive, practical, and performance-based. I combine acting techniques, improvisation, script work, character development, and physical theater exercises to help students connect emotionally and intellectually with their performances. I focus on helping learners develop stage confidence, self-expression, and storytelling skills while improving voice projection, body awareness, and interpretation of dramatic texts. I also integrate reflection and constructive feedback, empowering students to grow and take ownership of their artistic journey. Lesson Duration Each session typically lasts 60 minutes, giving enough time for warm-ups, performance work, and feedback. For students preparing for exams or auditions, I also offer 90-minute intensive sessions with deeper focus on monologues, devised pieces, or script analysis. My Qualifications & Experience I am a qualified Drama teacher with extensive experience teaching Years 5 to 10 in international schools. Over the years, I’ve helped students prepare for school performances, practical exams, and drama assessments, guiding both beginners and advanced learners toward confidence and excellence on stage.
