About Grace
I’m a recent graduate (2024) and have spent the time since finishing my degree working as a cover teacher in a secondary school. This experience has highlighted for me how effective one-to-one teaching can be—allowing for a more student-centred approach that often leads to deeper learning and better results. When not teaching, I spent time living on a self-sustaining farm in Sweden, learning firsthand what it means to live closely with the land. I find real joy in being able to combine this mindful, grounded lifestyle with my teaching practice.

I tutor English Literature online for 11+, GCSE, and A Level students, adapting my teaching style to suit the needs and goals of each learner. Whether we're focusing on the syllabus or taking a more exploratory approach, I aim to build a strong foundation of understanding, while also encouraging independent thinking and a personal response to texts. My methodology is student-led and flexible—I use a mix of close reading, discussion, essay planning, and language analysis, depending on what suits the student best. I also integrate creative exercises to help students connect with the material and gain confidence in their ideas. Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, allowing time for in-depth exploration and progress without being overwhelming.
