About Barb
I’m a semi-retired Reading/Literacy teacher/consultant, originally from Iowa, but familiar with Arizona as well.
I hold the K-12 Iowa Dyslexia Specialist, Reading endorsement, Master educator and school administration licenses endorsement and AZ k-8 Reading license.
I’ve taught at public schools, private schools, and worked as a Reading Consultant for over 30 years in all.
I’m semi-retired, but still want to work for students and be either in IA or AZ as I choose.

About the lesson

My lessons would provide explicit and systematic reading instruction in Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension.
After some diagnostic assessments, we would follow a structured literacy format working from sounds/syllables, through words, sentences, connected texts to comprehension.
Depending upon student’s needs the focus could be building accuracy or fluency to vocabulary or comprehension.
