About Courtney
I have worked with many students varying in academic needs. I use a scaffolded approach with phonics being a pivotal asset to the skills I support. I also have worked with many bilingual, Spanish-speaking families. I encourage using the mother tongue while learning English. It’s important to bridge the communication in our brains as we acquire new language.

Learning can be so much fun when introduced in the appropriate ways. I am a huge fan of word games and using fun to help out our long-term memory while learning. Research shows that an increase of play while learning helps generalize learned skills from the lesson.
