About Jess
In my HSC for highschool, I completed four units of English, with a major work of creative writing. While in highscool, I ran small study sessions to help students taking Advanced English, mostly to help write well formed essays, and practising writing short stories that were powerful in a time-limit. These were helpful extra aids for students sitting exams.
In 2017, I was asked to become a guildmaster (group teacher) on a website called Story Embers. Our goal was to teach our students to write well, creatively, and with the same thematic depth as the classical writers that we study to this day.
From there, I moved to tutoring a few students privately in their creative writing for their homeschooling in the US.
This year, I have been predominately focusing on teaching ESL online to various students through Preply, helping many to pass exams, get jobs, and understand their schooling better.

My lessons are predominately focused toward highschool students. I aim to create an interest for the subject, encouraging reading to help with writing. I assign small amounts of homework to help exercise the right parts of the brain to make the processes easier.
Regarding classical literature, and literature analysis, I like my students to learn about the context that the text was written in, then help them to analyse it in regards to its tone, form, context, story, themes, and the techniques that the composer has used. I encourage creative thought, and the use of reading other literary discussions on the text, as well as trying to draw their own conclusions.
