As a trusted educator with over two decades of classroom and tutoring experience, I hold a doctorate degree in STEM Education with a primary focus in mathematics education. I believe everyone can learn math—it’s all about finding the right approach and building confidence along the way. I make math accessible by breaking down big ideas into simple, clear steps and connecting them to real-life situations students can relate to.
My sessions are interactive and encouraging. I use a mix of explanation, guided practice, and problem-solving to help students truly understand rather than just memorize. I focus on a growth mindset, reminding students that mistakes are a natural (and important!) part of learning. I also help them take ownership of their progress by setting goals and reflecting on what they’ve learned.
A typical lesson starts with a quick warm-up, moves into hands-on examples and practice, and ends with reflection and celebration of progress.
What makes my tutoring unique is the supportive, positive environment I create. Students feel safe to ask questions, take risks, and discover that they’re capable of more than they thought. My lessons are perfect for all students-- from pre-algebra through calculus--who want to strengthen their skills and confidence in math.
