About Catherine
My name is Catherine Atkins I am from Atlanta, Georgia. I have been teaching for 11 years. My love for people motivates me to help educate and inspire others to grow their knowledge. I believe that begins with a good education. So as a teacher, I encourage my students to take their education seriously and focus on their future. As an educator, I also believe relaxing and learning through play is important. That means enjoying learning and seeing the good it brings to your life. As an educator, I try to incorporate in my lessons real-life experiences and sometimes play so that learning is enjoyable and relatable. I feel that students learn better under such circumstances and their learning experience is more enjoyable.

As a teacher, I differentiate lessons to accommodate each student's needs. I also model for students the lesson being taught, ensuring that the student understands and masters the skill.
My typical lesson plan includes:
* Introduction of the lesson
* Assessing students' prior knowledge
* Clearing up any misconception of the subject that the student may have.
* Modeling the lesson
* Guiding students in the assignment
* Allowing students to work independently on assignment
* Checking for understanding
I have a bachelor's degree in education and early childhood
I teach k12 students, but I am also skilled at teaching adults.
