About Kathleen

I have six years of classroom experience teaching grades 7th through 12th graded English/Language Arts. I have a bachelor's degree in English and History from Baldwin-Wallace College. I completed my first master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction through the Master of Urban Secondary Teaching program at Cleveland State University, and I completed my second master’s degree in School Administration through the Northeast Leadership Academy at North Carolina State University.

I just completed my 8th year in school administration. I spent 3 1⁄2 years as a high school assistant principal, 1 1⁄2 years as a middle school assistant principal, 1 year as an associate principal of a K-8 school, and 2 years as a principal of a K-6 school.

About the lesson

After teaching middle and high school students for a number of years, I have learned that building relationships and personalized learning activities is the key to engaging students. This is done by learning the various needs and interests of my students.
