About Luke
I grew up living in the UK, from a very small town just outside of London, where not much happened.
I aspired to be an actor believe it or not, until it came to choose our subjects for our GCSE's. Our school gave away free music instrument lessons if you studied Music, and wasn't really into music at the time, but my skateboarding friends were. They were listening to Rock bands that I had never heard of, as I was brought up listening to groups like The Spice Girls.
It was 2003 and The Darkness were on the rise, and they just blew my mind, how someone who looked THAT MAD! wearing a CAT SUIT!
could look so cool, ripping into a guitar solo. It was electrifying.
I wanted to be Justin Hawkins. My friends had already been playing guitar for a year already, I didn't own a guitar or amp. So during lunch times, I would book out the music practise room, grab the school guitar and learn what my guitar teacher taught me for weeks. My friends wondered if I had found other friends to hang out with I was in there so much. So maybe it was time I bothered my Dad for my own guitar and amp, and I did. He could see how passionate I was about it, I didn't even want to play the playstation anymore.
6 months later and I had caught up to my friends level of playing, they told me it was too hard, and that I should learn a different instrument. I ended up replacing one of them in the school band.
I used to sit in my room and learn songs from Total Guitar magazine, and watch documentaries about bands like Black Sabbath, AC/DC, and Iron Maiden. I would find out what made them want to play music, and then I would listen to them.
I was on a rock n roll journey at the age of 14.
I practised guitar for about 4-5 hours a day. I ended signing up for summer schools like the Rock School, where I made some long term friends playing in covers bands.
To spare you time, i'll list some of the opportunities that this journey has given me.
I played in a covers in Mallorca, Spain for a summer at 18, I recorded a 3 song EP with the producer of The Darkness debut album, went on tour of the UK, studied recording engineering, worked at Abbey Road Studios, worked on the Bohemian Rhapsody film, shared a stage with ex members of OASIS, and worked as a Backline Technician in Sydney, and now i'm teaching you.

My approach to tutoring is very relaxed, i'll treat our first lesson like an ice breaker, i'll get know a bit about you, and you'll get to know a bit about me.
We will find out what your goals are, and I will set you on a path for you to be able to achieve them, and then we will jump right into your first lesson.
My lessons are catered to absolute beginners up to advanced level.
Beginners: 1 hour (recommended) 30min available, but this goes quickly.
Intermediates: 1 hour to 30mins
With a lot of experience over the last 18 years playing in bands, writing songs, studying and recording music, teaching and even working on movie sets.
I have the ability to cover a lot of ground, whatever your goals may be.
