About Kennedy
Growing up in the United States, I took my natural language skills and access to education for granted. I didn't understand what a privilege it was to naturally have access to the English language and all it entails.
When I was 19, I moved to Germany and both experienced living as a minority and teaching for the first time.
In that time, I also became a parent, completely on my own.
Thrown into an unfamiliar world, surrounded by an unfamiliar language, struggling to get by, I gained an appreciation for the skills taught and gifted to me as well as a passion to share my experience and give that gift to others.
A happy life to me looks like time with my son, and the rest of my time teaching all that I am able.
My heart is full when I help others learn and I do too.

English is a gateway to the world that all human beings should have access to. Any and all that would benefit from this access are welcome in my lessons.
I teach using the backwards design method, starting with the end goals and aspirations of my class or students, then creating lessons accordingly.
Each lesson will be tailored to student's needs and ability, with resources pulled from TESOL international, several curriculums I have used, and textbooks that are easily accessible.
I ensure what I teach is not education that can be replaced with technology, only supplemented.
Human interaction and experience is essential to the access provided when English skills are gained.
