About Darcy
Hello! My name is Darcy, and I am an Elementary Education student in an accelerated bachelor's and master's program. Alongside my education studies, I am also pursuing minors in French and Neuroscience, allowing me to combine my passion for teaching with an understanding of language acquisition and how students learn best.
I currently work in elementary and middle school classrooms as an assistant teacher, where I support students with a wide range of learning styles, abilities, and academic needs. This hands-on classroom experience has given me the opportunity to teach and assist students in reading, writing, elementary mathematics, and French while learning how to create engaging lessons that foster confidence and academic growth.
I don't believe in one-size-fits-all teaching—I believe in teaching one student at a time. Every child learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to meet the individual needs, strengths, and goals of the student. Whether your child needs extra support, a different way of explaining a concept, or an additional challenge, I adapt my teaching to help them succeed.
My goal is to create a positive, encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress. I strive to help build confidence alongside academic skills so that students not only improve in the classroom but also develop a lifelong love of learning.
