About Charlotte
My experience in teaching is diverse, having taught and tutored elementary students in schools within England and China, as well as in Canada where I am currently an Internal Leader at a private school.
I only commit to tutoring a small number of students and form positive, fun relationships where I see the children grow and succeed. I have some availability over the summer months.
I specialize in the teaching of English vocabulary, reading comprehension and creative writing. I also teach Mastery math and all other elementary subjects with an Ontario and British curriculum foundation.
My qualifications are a First Class History BA, Post Graduate Certificate in Education, and Master of Teaching. I have completed numerous profession learning programs on subjects including special education, digital literacy, and Montessori education.

-Based on the student, I focus on one or two Elementary subject areas within each hour session.
-After identifying a student's areas for improvement, sessions will begin with a vocabulary/reading/math fact warm up, before focusing on the session's key skills in a fun, engaging way.
-I deliver a mastery approach to learning, transitioning through concrete, pictorial and abstract methods to deepen knowledge, explore learning in a variety of contexts, and use reasoning to explain understanding.
-Each session will build upon and revisit learned skills to ensure retention and make links between learning.
-I utilise my experience and training to succeed with students who have English as an additional language, special educational needs, and giftedness.
