About Elizabeth
Hi! My name is Elizabeth, and I'm a seasoned tutor and writing coach based in Charlotte, NC. I have 8 years of experience in tutoring students from elementary to graduate school in English, journalism, and Spanish. Over the past 13 years, I've worked in writing and editing-intensive roles. I graduated from Queens University of Charlotte with a degree in communication, concentrating in journalism and minoring in Spanish. Additionally, I hold a graduate certificate in Strategic Communication from my alma mater. When I'm not working, I love attending art events, reading, and writing poetry.

Elementary school: I work with students on foundational reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and spelling. Middle school: I work with students on essay writing, reading comprehension, creative writing, grammar, and spelling. High school: I work with students on essay writing + composition, English literature, SAT prep (English portion), grammar, spelling, study skills + time management, and college admissions essays. Undergraduate & Graduate levels: I work with students on essay writing, literature, grammar, spelling, study skills and time management, research papers, dissertations, and creative writing. In addition, I also tutor students on how to write effective resumes and cover letters. Research skills: I have experience with both MLA and APA citations. Specialty writing: I also have experience in journalistic writing and editing. At the start of my career, I worked as a journalist, writing over 350+ articles on political, government, education, and business news. All lesson plans are customized to the student's learning level. I'm able to create individualized lesson plans and/or work with students on their school assignments.
