About Neil
I have been a working actor for the past 35 years. Beginning on MainStage with The Second City and working my up through commercials to television, film, radio and animation. I have been a regular on no less than 7 Television series and have performed in dozens of feature films. In 2008 I was given a Canadian Comedy Award for my work as Bad Santa on Q107 and most recently, in 2021 I received a Daytime Emmy Nomination for my role as Mr. Leopold on CBC's 'Endlings'. I have been in the 'room' for literally hundreds of auditions and I've already made the mistakes so you don't have to. I would love to help you learn to love auditioning.

I have known Neil Crone for over 40 years. He is smart, passionate, funny and a wonderful teacher. I should know. I was the Artistic Director of the Second City Training Centre for 13 years.
To be a good actor, one needs to be able to communicate on a profound level; to reach into places within all of us that may have hitherto been unreachable. My special friend Neil does just that. He's smart, he's knowledgeable, he's understanding. He "get's it". On top of that he's damned funny, a vital and relaxing element of any teaching process. Not only will you learn from Neil, you'll like him. I've known it for 30 years. You'll know it instantly.
I have known Neil for almost thirteen years. I met him through my partner, who has known him for over forty years. Neil was kind and welcoming from the start, having invited us to his home for dinner shortly after I started dating my partner.
Over the years we have engaged in many activities together including kayaking, hiking, and weekend retreats. Whenever there is anything which is new to me or anyone else, Neil is always helpful in instucting with patience and understanding. Neil is well educated and well read; an avid reader who enjoys all genres of books. He has also raised two very intelligent and gifted sons.
I highly recommend Neil as an educator and as a person in general.
Neil is the type of teacher that will effectively communicate with his students his knowledge, patience and humour, so classes will be engaged and students will be interested in learning from him.
Neil is an awesome teacher. He's really clear with his help and I found myself learning much faster than with so many previous teachers. Plus, he's just a really nice person who genuinely wants you to do well. I would highly recommend him!
Neil's friendly and engaging approach to delivering all types of content promotes active learning. His natural ability and personality are well leveraged to create a learning environment that is effective, efficient and fun. You'll only need one presentation or class to see this for yourself. I highly recommend Neil with full confidence.
Animated, kind, patient, considerate and creative, he does it all. Mr. Crone is passionate in both the endeavours of learning and the immersive world of literature and, in teaching, adding his own delightful interpretations to both. Having been homeschooled myself, having Neil as one of my two teachers did a world of good and I am grateful for the experience. He is understanding, attentive and inspiring in his own unique way.
One time a snow fort collapsed on me and he dug me out instantly. He's incredibly reliable and caring and any student would be lucky to have him as their teacher.View more recommendations
